Indium dichloride, InCl2

Indium dichloride, InCl2, prepared by heating indium in a stream of dry hydrogen chloride, is a white, crystalline solid which melts to a yellow liquid. Its vapour density at 1167° to 1400° is about 6.5 (air = 1), corresponding to the simple formula. Water decomposes it into the trichloride and metallic indium.
